After an incredible 16 years on the UK's biggest soap, 'Coronation Street', Julie Hesmondhalgh has left the street behind, with over 10.7 million people tuning in to see her take her own life, after her long battle with cancer.
After a record-breaking Twitter reaction (over 100,000 tweets about 'Corrie'), Julie tweeted her very own poignant tribute: "Night, night, Mrs Cropper. Thanks for an incredible 16 years. xxx".
Not only was it the most-watched programme of 2014 so far, the 2nd episode (at 8:30pm) is the most-watched episode of 'Corrie' since May 2013.
Fans, celebrities & fellow 'Corrie' stars took to Twitter to praise David & Julie (Roy & Hayley) after a very powerful, but moving double bill of episodes. Awards are guaranteed & deserved for the nation's favourite soap couple.
